“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the LORD.
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.”
John 1: 9-13 (ESV) says, “The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Do I believe?
Do I believe that God is bigger than what I am facing?
Do I believe that God became “flesh and dwelt among us”, or that God really has the power to move mountains into the sea?
Do I believe that God cares about me enough to elevate His Will in my life above my own doubts & fears?
Do I actually believe that God’s Will for my life is perfect & good?
“Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the LORD. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.”
If I believe, than I need to trust.
The kind of trust I need is the kind that believes even when darkness covers the land for days at a time.
The kind of trust I need is the kind that believes miracles are possible in a marriage that carries skeletons from ex’s past.
The best things take time. It takes time to do well.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (HSCB) states,
"There is an occasion for everything,
and a time for every activity under heaven:
a time to give birth and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to uproot;
a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to tear down and a time to build;
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
a time to embrace and a time to avoid embracing;
a time to search and a time to count as lost;
a time to keep and a time to throw away;
a time to tear and a time to sew;
a time to be silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the LORD. Fathers, do not antagonize your children, so that they will not become discouraged.”
