Deuteronomy 28:7 (HCSB): “The LORD will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you from one direction but flee from you in seven directions.”
This is one of the promises God gave to His people in the Book of Deuteronomy. The Israelites had already been taken out of Egypt, where their clothes & sandals did not wear out. They did not have to seek their own food as the LORD brought them their food in the form of manna.
Yet with this promise, came a condition that they would serve God. If they turned back from God & served foreign Gods they would receive harsh curses for their disobedience.
Deuteronomy 28:15-68 details these curses.
God, today, I choose to walk in the path of your blessings. To turn back from my sinful ways of anger, frustration, and unforgiveness. You know the sin that rests in my heart. Please God help me to become a man that can serve You, serve my family, and bless others as you say in Deuteronomy 28:12: “The LORD will open for you His abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.”
