Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Colossians 1:15-17 (NIV)

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Isaiah 14:24-27 (NIV)

24 The Lord Almighty has sworn,

“Surely, as I have planned, so it will be,
    and as I have purposed, so it will happen.
25 I will crush the Assyrian in my land;
    on my mountains I will trample him down.
His yoke will be taken from my people,
    and his burden removed from their shoulders.”

26 This is the plan determined for the whole world;
    this is the hand stretched out over all nations.
27 For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
    His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?

The LORD’s purpose prevails, despite my attempt for control.

I can attempt to force a door open. I can crawl, I can beg, I can ask, I can manipulate or inspire the pieces to fall where I want. Every single time I have manipulated or forced a situation, it has ended badly. This is not to say that everything God has us do, is easy or always work’s out the way we define success. Because that is simply not true. God sustains us in what He calls us too.

God is our sustainer through all things.

Every choice still comes through God, as the final authority.

I have crossed states in a small vehicle, getting rid of many of my possessions (possessions I wanted to keep & liked) to hit a goal. To discover a purpose. To follow what I believe is God’s plan for my life. A life that He knew before birth.

Yet, my desire to control displays both a lack of trust & a lack of faith in God. Sometimes I really believe He will leave me stranded in the season I am currently in. I really can doubt Him.

On these trips across states, He never allowed me to leave anything I needed behind. I never lacked anything. At least anything, I was actually designed for. If I forgot something that I actually did need, He returned it to me in one way, shape, or form. He created all things.

He can send anything. He can do anything, He is above everything.

In Him, will I trust. God, help me to follow You, even when the road is unclear & it seems like I can’t.
