Hebrews 5:1-5 (NLT) – “Every high priest is a man chosen to represent other people in their dealings with God. He presents their gifts to God and offers sacrifices for their sins. And he is able to deal gently with ignorant and wayward people because he himself is subject to the same weaknesses. That is why he must offer sacrifices for his own sins as well as theirs. And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He must be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was.”
Who am I to throw stones?
Do I not live in a glass house?
Will my own stone not bounce off my intended target and either hit me back or shatter the glass walls, I am housed within?
Who am I to judge?
Really, Who Am I??
A pastor is not a pastor because he chooses to be one. God says above in Hebrews, that a pastor must be Called by God. The authorities that exist, are ordained of God.
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
Yet, those are Called still have to survive various seasons, also known ahead by God.
For instance, David was anointed by God in one season to be a King, but still, seasons had to pass before David took the throne.
“And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel.
And Samuel said to Jesse, ‘The LORD has not chosen these.’
Then Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Are all your sons here? And he said, ‘There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.’
And Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.’ And he sent and brought him in.
Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome.
And the LORD said, ‘Arise, anoint him, for this is he.’
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers.
And the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day forward.
And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”
David first served the current King, Saul, as armor-bearer & musician. David played the lyre (harp/guitar) for King Saul during the next season.
David had to respect the authority that God ordained before David could serve as King. Yet, David was already anointed. David was already Chosen. David was going to be a King.
God Chose David.
God Chose You.
God Chose Me.
For what, I don’t know. Maybe you do. I just don’t. At least not yet. Yet, I have a destiny.
God has prepared a path for me to walk in.
