Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
Fools in the Bible generally reject God. Fools choose not to follow God’s wisdom & commands. Those with wisdom, the wise, choose to follow God.1
It is believed Proverbs 14:1 refers to homemaking & not the literal construction of a home. Therefore, wisdom does not require a family to literally build their home from scratch. 2
A wise family will train their children in God’s ways3, speak with encouragement4, and make sound investment decisions for their loved ones & family members5.
The traits of the wise woman in Proverbs 14:1 likely benefit & apply to a wise man.6 A wise family fears God, as fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom.7
