Psalm 63 (WEB):

“God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.

So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.

Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.

So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.

My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,

when I remember you on my bed, and think about you in the night watches.

For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.

My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.

But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.

But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced. For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.”

God is my God. I do my best to trust Him. I really do.

It is not always easy. However, when I reflect on the moments I have seen His power & glory, it gets easier.

Yet, I have never seen the sun stand still, nor the moon stay in place as Joshua did.1 I have never seen the waters part in the sea—long enough for an entire Hebrew army to cross & powerful enough to destroy an Egyptian army when the sea came back together again.2 Israel believed & feared the awesome power of God, having witnessed this miracle first hand.3

However, I have seen God move mountains in my own life as a result of belief, faith, forgiveness, & prayer.4 I have had God give me a new heart —putting love in my old, frozen, cold heart.5 I have felt the shackles of sin be lifted off my waist, so I no longer had their weight6 dragging me down.

I have had moments where I was empowered by the Spirit to supernaturally love others and have: joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.7

But . . . I also have moments of doubt, fear, and unbelief.

I have moments where I don’t do what I know I should do.8 I have moments where I look to the left & look to the right, instead of fixing my gaze straight ahead.9 I have let my tongue, steer the ship—of my life—off course, into the stormy seas of destruction.10

However, God has never forsaken me. Nor Will He.11
