There Is Fruit Even When It Looks Like None Exist

Proverbs 2:6-8 (NLT)

“For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

He holds success in store for the upright, He is a shield to those who walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.”

There are moments that I walk through where everything seems hopeless.

The garden is barren of trees that bear fruit. There are no vegetables growing from the gound. In fact, thorns & weeds took over the last batch I tried to grow.

Yet, I have found that there is almost always one fruit tree left.

I have learned that any attempt to tend this one fruit tree, will be met with challenges: both external & internal.

STORMS WILL COME. VULTURES WILL CIRCLE.

LIGHTNING WILL STRIKE.

Yet, choosing to focus on tending that one fruit tree COULD work out.

Hope comes from the LORD.

Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

There is a possibility, there is a chance, that things will work out. That the small, basically barren fruit tree WILL grow fruit.

But also know, the lightning will strike & it will hurt. The challenges will come, and depression will hit.

Your spouse will hurt you.

Prepare your heart.

Ask God for Strength, Wisdom, & Direction.

I wish that I had all the answers. I don’t. But I still wish I did.

But I know who does . . . GOD.

GOD can send the sun in the middle of a storm.

GOD can take the work you did in the storm & turn it into a blessing that attracts others.

As the tree grows & bears fruit, the environment that grew the fruit in the first place, likely will change. There may be more people, more animals, more mouths to feed. Other plants may transform into buildings that hold beds for new friends.

Waking up, getting into a rhythm, saying okay to the damage the storm brings. . . none of this easy.

I know, because this is my struggle.

But I have faith, even in my doubts, that GOD can bear fruit from the work done in the middle of the storm.
